IBA is pleased to feature Anita LeBold in its January 2018 Student Spotlight. This month the IBA Adult Ballet instructors selected a student for the Spotlight from the Adult Ballet Program. Alexander Tressor, who teaches in the program, noted that, “Anita has transformed herself in very visible ways, and her dedication and discipline rubs off on others.” Instructor Liz Blackwood referred to Anita as “one of the first students who came to mind” for this designation.
Anita began her study of ballet in her hometown of Charlotte, NC. At age 14, she was dancing (and being paid) with the Charlotte Regional Ballet Company under the direction of Gay Porter. She has studied at IBA for the past three years with Alex and Liz. In addition to her dance classes, she does cardio and strength training three days a week.
Having worked in the mortgage industry her entire professional life, Anita is currently employed with HomeBridge Financial Services as a Mortgage Loan Officer. She graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration from the Belk School of Business at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is heavily involved in the community for Greenville Eastside Kiwanis Club and with the Judson YMCA as a volunteer (and past board member), as well as with the Greenville Chapter of the Mortgage Bankers Association, for which she currently serves as treasurer, and with the Greenville County Democratic Party (current treasurer) and Democratic Women, for which she has previously served as president, treasurer, and membership director. She enjoys reading fiction, biographies, and political books; working on political campaigns, and watching the top ranked Tarheel men’s basketball team. She lives in Greenville with her husband of 30 years, Jeff, and her two four-legged children, Buffy and Jody, who are Manx cats.
