The Director of Career & College Guidance recently interviewed Stella Bishop, who is featured in IBA's Student Spotlight for October.
IBA: Congratulations, Stella, on being featured in IBA's Student Spotlight for October. How long have you been dancing, and how long have you been a student at International Ballet Academy?
SB: I have been dancing for seven years. This is my second year at IBA.
IBA: How old are you?
SB: I am ten years old.
IBA: What do you like to do when you are not dancing?
SB: When I am not dancing, I enjoy reading and doing crafts.
IBA: What is your favorite subject in school?
SB: My favorite subject in school is math. My teacher is the best!
IBA: What do you like to eat?
SB: I love, love, love alfredo!
IBA: There are other dance schools in the Greenville area. What made you pick IBA?
SB: I chose IBA because of the focus on ballet and the wonderful teachers and instruction!
IBA: Who is your biggest role model?
SB: My mom is my biggest role model because she is hard-working and nice.
IBA: If you could dance any role in any ballet, what would it be and why?
SB: I would be Clara in The Nutcracker because I just love her part and the story!
IBA: Just for fun, complete this sentence. "Ballet would be better without _____________."
SB: Ballet would be better without leotards and tights:)
IBA: Finally, Stella, what do you want to be when you grow up?
SB: When I grow up, I think I want to be a teacher, but I'm not sure yet.
IBA: Thank you, Stella. Again, congratulations and best of luck to you. We look forward to watching you train and perform at IBA.
Look for Stella in International Ballet's The Nutcracker December 1-3, 2017 at the Peace Center for the Performing Arts. She will dance the roles of soldier and angel.
